Diabetic socks an be a good investment. But they can also cost a lot of money for something that you could probably find cheaper somewhere else without the "diabetic" part attached to it.

A diabetic sock must have the following properties to make it effective:

1- no seams
2- must be a light colour and no dark colours
3- elastic so that it is not tight on your leg or foot
4- the top seam should not be elastic because it can apply too much pressure to your leg and cause indents

Those 4 points are the main ones. Sure you might find certain materials- like natural materials which help with sweating. Also some have Silver within them, which is nice. But sock has only one job to do:

Stop shear forces to be applied to the foot.

Socks have little effectiveness to stop anything sharp.

Can I state one brand over another? No. Only because some brands now are going against the 4 points from above.
